[mad] Spoke with a women at Race Marque Systems this afternoon. Said she would check with Osh regarding the return of my DME/EU that i had returned to RMS 3 weeks ago.
"He's working on it now, it will be sent out today."

People, this is the third week, yes the third week, that i have been told or had an e-mail reply (first week), that my reprogrammed DME/EU is on the way back to me.

She was not aware that i had spoken with another individual earlier today who informed me that "their shipping person had not been into work for 5 days and shipping was all screwed up as he did not keep adequate records."

Now, while patience is regarded as a virtue, and RMS appears to bank on that premise, i cannot, and will not recommend their service to anyone.

Personnally, i feel as if i have become their whipping boy [whip] .

Unfortunately they have me holding a $25K car sitting within my garage (dead in the water).

For what it is worth, my only recommendation is: Do Not purchase ANY RMS product if you believe you will get the service you are paying for in a timely manner. [spank]

I started this project in November 2003.
Did not receive the kit until 5 phone calls and 10 e-mails later in February 2004.
Had installation questions which took more time than typing this, to get resolved as their instructions were written by an kindergardner applying for admission to UCLA.
After the second reprogramming, and a dynojet run, figured i had to replace the entire emissions components:
fuel pressure regulater
fuel filter
fuel pump and sender
throttle position sensor
Mass Air Flow sensor
Resoldered the MAF wires to eliminate potential continuity problems with the original harness and relocation.
4 new O2 sensors
6 GNK spark plugs
6 new coils
Plus a transmission rebuild as the first gear and torgue converter were shot.
Figure in the cost of RMS Super Charger +After Cooler and the Brembos front and Rear (with significant modifications)

This will be the 3rd reprogramming (Sept 2004).

I have had this car dyno'd twice.
Both times, while impressive, they were not satisfactory.

I admit i am old school. Promote a product, make sure you can support it truthfully.

Just returned from Van Nuys, Ca and 3 days spent at the RMS shop.
Observed that the people Osh has working the cars are dedicated to performing their tasks to the level one would expect from a "reknowned" speed shop.

They do take their time, but then who wants a mechanic to rush thru a job? Not me.

Anyway, as i was on the property, Osh did take the time to super tune my 328i. Found that the vaccumme hose from the throttle control valve to the aftercooler was split. Osh had that replaced, and proceeded to adjust the program of the ECU on a trial and error and reprogram multiple times. It now runs as it should.

I did not take him up on his offer to come back a forth day when he expected to have his "emulators" returned from Germany. They would have allowed him to see all six cylinders operating and put them all in sync . I am happy with the performance as it is.

Suggestion: if you go with RMS, be ready to travel to the RMS shop to obtain the best service and programming of your DME. It is worth the trip.
