I was driving the other day when i began hearing a loud clunking sound that orginated from the rear seat. I remember reading some where that the rear subframe mounting points can crack. Is this a common problem?? How much will it cost to fix???

It has been know to happen on cars that have been raced heavily. Depending on how bad the damage is, it can be an easy weld or a serious reconstruction.

Have you had it looked at? Lots of things can make it go clunk - exhaust system mounts, bad shocks or shock mounts, deteriorated bushings, hehe something rolling around in the trunk.

i have something like that going on with my car too. Georgia roads are pretty smooth and I don't really use the rear seats that much to affect the shocks and other related components. i will however check it out one of these days in the near future. mine is overheating again...i think this will make thermostat #5 or 6...I stopped counting after 3. I will keep you updated as I go
